50% Off Makeup Sale Priceline Drugstore Haul 2017

Who else got their hands on some bargains at the Priceline 50% off cosmetics sale? I managed to pick up some of my favourite products and a few new ones to try out so I filmed this Priceline makeup haul!

Although 50% off is amazing, Christmas is almost here so I didn’t go too overboard. My total spendings at Priceline came to $62.37 but on the bright side, I saved a whopping $62.45! Here is what I bought and why.

NUDE BY NATURE Mineral Veil Finishing Powder 12 g

The Nude By Nature mineral finishing veil is amazing at creating a smooth and flawless finish on the skin without enhancing any fine lines or wrinkles. I haven’t heard many people talking about this product but it is amazing! I press it into the skin with a damp beauty blender to set my foundation.

It doesn’t contain Talc, Bismuth or Parabens, so it not only helps minimise excess oil and shine but allows your skin to breathe (plus no flashback in photos!).

With 50% off it came to $19.97 Continue reading “50% Off Makeup Sale Priceline Drugstore Haul 2017”

NYX Total Control Drop Foundation Review

During a routine Priceline shop, I came across the NYX Total Control Drop Foundation for $24.95. The sleek yet simple packaging was intriguing enough for me to pop it straight in my basket.

I’ll be honest I’m not a huge foundation girl, I would much rather pop on some concealer and head out the door but there was something about the NYX Total Control Drop Foundation that caught my eye.

I liked the idea of a using a dropper to apply the foundation. I colour matched myself with the shade ‘light claire’ which has a yellow undertone to match my skin tone.

The NYX Total Control Drop Foundation claims to give you total control with the dropper. It says to drop 2+ drops for a light coverage, 3+ for medium coverage and 4+ for full coverage.

It claims that you can “fine-tune this velvety, matte foundation with the included dropper. Simply adjust the number of drops until you create the look you’re feelin’ today. Want more coverage? Add more drops! Buff expertly using the Total Control Drop Foundation Brush for a seriously smooth finish.”

The NYX Total Control Drop Foundation Brush

The NYX foundation comes with a makeup brush with an indentation to drop the foundation into. The hole in the brush is designed to hold the foundation while you buff it into the skin. However, after watching review I decided not to spend my dollars on the brush because people have said it seems to eat the product.

I decided to test the foundation to see what MAKEUP tool applies it best, the real techniques expert face brush vs a damp beauty blender.

NYX Total Control Drop Foundation Packaging

I am all about simplicity – so the sleek and simple design was definitely a packaging tick from me. I like the glass bottle and the sleek black writing and dropper. However, the bottle is quite small and because the product is watery, it is quite messy.

Pros of the NYX Total Control Drop Foundation

  • Extended shade range for every undertone and complexion.
  • Easily blendable and easy application.
  • Love the texture and semi-matte finish.
  • Doesn’t accentuate pores or cause breakouts.
  • Sheer to full coverage, depending on how much product you use.
  • Fragrance-free formula!
  • Suitable for normal, oily and combination skin types.
  • Natural-looking foundation and lightweight on the skin.

Cons of the NYX Total Control Drop Foundation

  • The bottle gets messy because the product has a watery consistency.
  • No SPF included!
  • Expensive – you only get 13ml for $24.95 for a drugstore brand.
  • Instructions are not accurate – 2+ drops are not enough to cover entire face (especially with a brush).

Would I repurchase the NYX Total Control Drop Foundation?

Yes, I am loving this foundation for everyday use because it is light yet buildable depending on my coverage needs. It is a versatile product because you can use it as a foundation, I use a few drops as a concealer or as custom drops to make other foundations lighter or darker.

The Brow Tint You Have To Try! Maybelline Tattoo Brow Gel Tint Review & Demo

I have been seeing the Maybelline Tattoo Brow Gel Tint everywhere and decided it was time to try it for myself. I’m happy with the thickness of my brows but they could always be a bit darker, especially at the tail end.

The price is $24.95 however, I got it from the Chemist Wharehouse for $12.39, bargain! It comes in 4 different shades, I chose grey brown because my brows are a more cool toned brown shade. Plus, the colour on the box looked the closest to my actual hair colour.

End of Winter Empties and Product Reviews

I have a confession, I am a hoarder. After I finish a product I keep it in a little box in my office to review for a Youtube empties video.

Whilst that’s all good and well, there no better feeling than finally throwing away that empty bottle so, here is my end of winter empty products. I tell you whether I will be repurchasing the product and why.

The Clinique Clarifying Lotion

I use The Clinique Clarifying Lotion as a toner, I picked this one up because it is alcohol-free which is a lot more gentle on the skin. It’s hard to tell how much of a difference a toner makes because you use products before and after a toner.

This toner did not irritate my skin and was also calming on my sensitive skin so, I would repurchase.  Continue reading “End of Winter Empties and Product Reviews”

Clarisonic Mia 2 Review | Worth It?

I’ve struggled with my skin since a teen. One thing no one tells you as a teen is that, unfortunately, your skin doesn’t magically clear up when you hit your twenties or even your thirties!

I decided that if there was one thing I was going to invest my money into, it was skincare. So I purchased the Clarisonic Mia 2 a couple of years ago because I’m always on the lookout for something that will help improve my skin. Was it worth it?

Eyebrow Routine For Thick Eyebrows + Benefit Goof Proof First Impressions

Having full eyebrows has been a blessing since they have become quite popular in recent years. I often get people asking ‘how do I get my brows looking so thick?’ So I thought I would film my eyebrow routine.

Here is my eyebrow routine, as well as a review and my first impressions on the Benefit goof proof brow pencil.

Whilst my eyebrow routine doesn’t take long, I wouldn’t say this is a super quick and easy routine when using a pencil. I consider quick and easy to be a quick slick of tinted brow gel through my brows before running out the door.

5 Tips to embrace your Fair Skin | Plus Skincare!

Now that we are well and truly into the colder months my skin is as pale as ever. I’ve decided to embrace my pale skin and remember to really take care of it during these harsh winter months.

Fair skin can be sensitive and more susceptible to sun damage and redness. Which means, it is extra important to take care of your beautiful fair skin. Here are my top 5 tips on how to care for your fair skin.

Sun Protection

skincareMy number one tip for fair skin is to practise being sun smart daily, all year ’round. Sunburn leads to premature wrinkles, sun spots and worst of all, skin cancer. I use Dermalogica’s Ultra Sensitive Tint with SPF 30.

It has multiple benefits acting as a sunscreen, whilst being sensitive enough for fair skin and giving a touch of colour. It also protects from both UVA and UVB rays.
