If you missed the hype about the Swisse Manuka Honey Mask, let me bring you up to date. This is one natural skincare product you must try!
I can never say no to a bargain, so when I found the Swisse Manuka Honey Detoxifying Facial Mask on sale at The Chemist Wharehouse for $9, I had to pick it up.
Swisse claims that ‘The Swisse Manuka Honey Detoxifying Facial Mask works to purify and detoxify combination skin, leaving it feeling smooth and hydrated. Using antibacterial compounds, and ingredients such as Kaolin Clay and Charcoal, it helps to absorb toxins and clear congested and blemish prone skin. Packaged in a protective amber glass jar.”
I like that it has antibacterial compounds (the manuka honey), no harmful chemicals or preservatives and they do not test on animals.
My Skin Type
Upon applying the Swisse Manuka Honey Detoxifying Facial Mask it was cooling to the skin and had a nice calming smell (fragrance-free). It starts to dry very quickly, after around 5-10 minutes depending on how much you apply. Yet, it was still comfortable on the skin, it didn’t make my skin feel tight or uncomfortable like other masks (maybe due to the hydration claims).
The most satisfying part is when it dries and you could see where it was drawing out impurities around my nose area and chin (where I get blackheads). This is like instant gratification!
Pros of the Swisse Manuka Honey Detoxifying Facial Mask
- Thin consistency so it will last
- Lasts for 12 months
- Not tested on animals
- No nasty chemicals or preservatives
Cons of the Swisse Manuka Honey Detoxifying Facial Mask
- Smell – not a nice fragrance because it’s unscented but I actually prefer this because it means no unnecessary chemicals.
- Comes in a jar – you have to dip your fingers or a spatula into the jar which isn’t very hygienic (I use a q-tip).
Would I recommend the Swisse Manuka Honey Detoxifying Facial Mask?
After washing it off of course my impurities had not magically disappeared however, my skin felt very smooth.
After using it for a while, I can confidently say it’s one of the better masks I have used on my skin. The mask makes a significant and visible difference in my skin straight after application and has complimented my skincare routine quite well.
I would recommend for people with combination, oily or sensitive skin. It’s unlikely to irritate sensitive skin because it contains natural ingredients. With continued use, I have noticed positive changes in my skin so I am happy to recommend this product.
