Healthy Breakfast Smoothie

Smoothies purchased from the shops can get a bad rap for being sugar filled juices. However, making them at home ensures you know exactly what you’re putting into your body.

I’ve been guilty of visiting Boost Juice more than my fair share. Although lately, I’ve been creating some delicious smoothies at home to curb my addiction and reduce the money I spend when I’m out.  It’s a win-win!

This healthy alternative tastes just as good for a fraction of the price. Follow this recipe to try one of my favourite quick and easy breakfast smoothies. It’s delicious and full of nutrients!

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of morning juice (alternative – coconut water)

  • 1 tablespoon of manuka honey (manuka honey is a great natural sweetener)

  • 1-2 handfuls of frozen berries

  • 1 medium-large banana

  • 1/2 cup of plain greek yogurt

  • 1 teaspoon of chia seeds

  • 1 tablespoon of coconut oil (alternative – olive oil, they are both healthy oils)

  • 1 handful of ice

Pop it all into the blender and ta-da! A quick and delicious breakfast for on the go. Enjoy your morning with a filling and nutritious blended drink.
